The Minerva Church Hotel is a delightful haven nestled in the heart of Hanoi, offering a perfect base for exploring the city's rich history and vibrant culture. Its prime location is a standout feature, just a short stroll from iconic landmarks such as Hoàn Kiếm Lake and St. Joseph's Cathedral, making it incredibly convenient for sightseeing. The rooms are clean and comfortable, providing a cosy retreat after a busy day exploring the bustling streets of Hanoi. Everything is well-maintained, and the attention to cleanliness adds to the overall comfort of the stay. However, what truly sets this hotel apart is its exceptional staff. You are greeted cheerfully from the moment you arrive, and this warm hospitality continues throughout your stay. The staff's friendliness and attentiveness create a welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. Breakfast offers a variety of dishes to suit different tastes, providing a fresh and flavourful start to the day that leaves you satisfied and ready to explore.

Location is very good--close to Hoan Kiem Lake and so many of the city's attractions. However, the staff are the hotel's greatest asset. Thomas is outstanding! He is very knowledgeable, efficient and caring. He arranged excursions for us that were perfect for our needs. Also Lisa and Sunny were terrific, and Kevin on the front door couldn't do enough for us. They all made us feel so welcome. Breakfast was lovely, and our room, although small, had everything we needed.

The room was as pretty as the photos shown. It was spacious and comfortable, the bedroom was separated with the living room. The bathroom was spacious too. The room is located at the top floor (8/F) of the building. Elevator can only reach 7/F. Guests have to walk up and down one floor, but on the way can go to the balcony for the city lookout, looking at the beautiful Cathedral, very nice. The staff were so good to move up our luggage to our room. Plenty of sunshine in the whole room. The TV in the bedroom was bigger than many other hotel. There was another TV in the living room. Air-conditioners worked well. Lightings were sufficient in every corner of the room. A small balcony was attached in the living room, as it’s very hot during the period we visited. We seldom use it. May be it is nice to sit there during winter season. The Catholic Cathedral St Joseph is nearby, it’s peaceful to hear the bell rings. A very beautiful church, must visit. All staff are excellent, very caring and good manners. The Indian café at the G/F serves daily breakfast, besides the choices on the bench, guests were invited to pick a main course from the menu. I like their Vietnam Chicken Poh offered. 30% off for hotel guests to use their massage services. But you better make booking in advance to avoid waiting for the therapist. There has a small convenient store near the Cathedral (i.e. LHS of the hotel), there has a bigger convenient store just turn the corner of the street (i.e. RHS of the hotel), guests can find varieties of fresh fruits there. The hotel provides laundry services at a reasonable cost, bring to the front desk in the morning before going out, then the staff will send to your room in the evening.

Omg where to begin! Staff were beyond incredible. They were amazing and super helpful. Location was perfect too. Super close to everything, 5 min walk to literally anything but also for some reason a less chaotic street compared to a lot of other places I've seen! Have to say a special thanks to Lisa who helped me book the bus to Sapa and then was so kind to help with my change request on the return journey. I left the luggage at the hotel when I went to Sapa and Halong bay, they were so nice to accommodate all my request to put things in and out. Breakfast was good, room was sufficiently clean.

"A Truly Exceptional Stay!" From the moment we arrived at Minerva Hotel, it was clear that this was going to be a memorable experience. The check-in process was smooth and efficient, and the staff greeted us with a warm welcome, making us feel instantly at home. The room was nothing short of spectacular. It was spacious, beautifully designed, and spotlessly clean. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the bathroom felt like a mini spa with high-end amenities and a rain shower. We also appreciated the thoughtful touches like fresh flowers and a welcome gift. The hotel's location couldn't have been better—just steps away from top attractions, yet tucked in a quiet area so we could enjoy some peace and relaxation when we returned. The on-site dining options were top-notch, with delicious food and excellent service. We especially loved the breakfast buffet, which had a wide variety of options, from fresh fruit to made-to-order dishes. What really stood out was the exceptional service throughout our stay. Every staff member, shout out to RORY, LISA, SUNNY and THOMAS, from the concierge to the housekeeping team, went above and beyond to ensure our comfort. They were always friendly, attentive, and eager to assist with any request, making us feel truly valued. In short, Minerva Hotel exceeded all of our expectations. Whether you're visiting for business or leisure, this hotel offers a perfect blend of luxury, comfort, and exceptional service. We can’t wait to return!

We arrived late and the employee at the reception got us through our booked reservation efficiently; he also provided small refreshments which was well appreciated. The day staff at the reception and breakfast area were very kind and helpful. Nice breakfast and it changes day to day. They helped with arranging for a day trip and driver and made arrangements to have our bags sent to a sister hotel nearby. Very nice to arrive at the other place and the bags were waiting, no worries. Kudos also to the staff that we don't see or interact with as much but they keep the hotel running very smoothly.

This is an exceptionally well-presented property, in a very central location close to the cathedral and Hoan Kiem lake. The room was clean and relatively newly fitted out, with all expected 4-star amenity… and the bathroom has a bath too, which is becoming a rarity now! This property is a genuine top-notch 4-star, compared to others I’ve experienced in Hanoi (which claim ridiculously high rack-rates and equally high supposed discounts) which are tired, rundown and should not be so rated. The breakfast was the best I’ve experienced in Vietnam, with eggs cooked to order and a quality range of western and local accompaniment’s, including handmade juices. The staff are absolutely focused on providing an excellent guest experience, to be commended.

My wife and I took the Sleeper Train from Sapa to Hanoi Railway Station. We reached Minerva Church Hotel early in the morning around 6.30 a.m. on March 4, 2025. On hand to assist us to register was one Mr. Alex at the reception. We later found out that he works the "graveyard shift" but yet he still looks so fresh, presentable, cheerful helpful n friendly even towards the end of his shift. As it was too early to check-in he led us to the waiting area to rest and at the same time served us complimentary cups of coffee. That was very considerate of him and a very nice gesture. We were also given access to the washroom to brush our teeth and freshen up. After his shift ended, Ms. Lisa and Mr. Thomas Bui assisted with the check-in and they managed to have a room ready for us before 12.00 p.m. The room is very spacious, very clean and with a very comfortable bed and windows overlooking the main street providing a good view of the area and the busy pedestrian / vehicular activities on the street. Apart from the usual toiletries, comb razor, etc., kettle, 3-in-1 coffee and tea bags, the room is also equipped with an ironing board and iron which is a plus. Many hotels nowadays provide for it on request. The buffet cum a la carte breakfast is very delicious with a good variety of western n local fare and fruits, juices, yoghurt. There is another female staff at the reception wearing glasses who is very helpful, friendly and approachable. Didn't get her name though but she is also part of the fantastic team that made our stay at Minerva Church Hotel very enjoyable and memorable. Location of the hotel is fantastic. When you come out ftom the hotel and turn left, it's less than a minute's walk to St. Joseph Cathedral, 6 - 8 minutes walk to Hoan Kien Lake. There are plentiful of eateries, cafes, spas, pubs, convenience stores right in front and within a 3 minutes walk from the hotel.

I picked this hotel more-or-less at random. I needed somewhere in that location (near the lake but not in the pedestrianised area) with free wifi. I really didn't look closely. I was extremely surprised and pleased to find the glittering mirrored foyer when I arrived! My room was an ideal place to chill out after some hard weeks. Everything I needed (including bookings for trips outside Hanoi) was handled with great care and attention by the friendly and highly competent staff. I thoroughly recommend this place (Oh, and the food is excellent too, and breakfast is served with sweet little features!).

The staff were exceptional - Lisa, Rory, Sunny and Travis were warm, charming and genuinely helpful, especially with booking excellent tours to Ninh Binh and Ha Long Bay. They were particularly wonderful with our young son, surprising him with a special gift for his 8th birthday. We were always greeted with genuine warmth no matter what time we returned, and the staff struck the right balance of being professional while maintaining a wonderfully relaxed, family-like atmosphere. The location was perfect, right next to St. Joseph's Cathedral in a vibrant yet peaceful area of Ha Noi. The breakfast was outstanding and exceeded our expectations. Our room was very clean and fresh, and the historic building was full of character.
